Street Cricket Vs International Cricket

On the third day of a crucial test match between India and Pakistan, there comes Shoaib Akhtar firing in at 150kmph and we have the WALL at the other then presenting the full face of the bat to play the best known defensive shot known to our country. Some people call this wasting time and lowering the scoring rate. On another day, when the best known slip catches drops a sitter, we all curse him. When our best known bowler bowls a wide, we are in the utmost verge of breaking our television sets. We culminate everything into one phrase, “This should not be done in the International level”. Yes. No denying that fact.

Cricket is religion. No one hates the game. From the days of childhood having a dream to be like Sachin, to the days after college, we never seem to stop playing this game. That is when you realize how tough it is. We drop the easiest of catches, miss scoring on the easiest of short balls. 15 overs and you search for the nearest tap to refill yourself!! This is when the realization dawns on you the painstaking effort it takes to be a cricketer. Unless you confine your life to ONLY CRICKET, it can never be made into our profession. Hats off and I salute each cricketer who strives for the game of cricket and their country!!
