The largest democracy and the second most populous country
in the world gives the freedom of expression to everyone. And that sounds
great, doesn’t it? The best examples
As the heads of our soldiers are chopped at the borders,
here we are, holding a box of popcorn enjoying an entertaining World Cup match.
The Indian Army needs to be saluted for its attempt to safeguard our country
from its neighbors. Here was a man who said it Muslims who fought in Kargil. If
there is one organization devoid of religious differences, its our Armed
Forces. The blood they shed, is for the Country!! The soldiers of the Indian
Army take oath in all religions as they pass out the parade to serve for their
nation!! I believe we are duty bound to respect and honor the brave hearts
without whom we could not have a peaceful nights sleep!!
The comments on women are horrifying!! The nation grows
every year, still it remains to be a patriarchal society. A country where women
need to be treated with such dignity and respect, here we are disrespecting and
humiliating them to the core.
“If you can’t prevent rape, enjoy it”- A human being, decent
enough to understand English will not speak such words. We fail to accept our
inability to protect women. We fail to accept we are unable to change the people.
We employ hundreds for the “Z” category and now the “Z+” security, we are
unable to employ a few more to ensure the women in our country travel safe and
hassel free.
“Rape is a mistake. Rape accused should not be hanged. Boys
will be boys”- The only thing we can feel is that electing him was also a very
big mistake. When you commit a murder it’s not called a mistake. You are
hanged. In what way should a rapist be let off? If a person who ends a life has
committed a crime, why is a person who has ruined the life of another be called
innocent?
I will ask our boys to go and rape CPM women if
necessary." – By no means can an individual such as him be let off
by the constitutional provisions. Are women toys for you to play with? Such
individuals will realize when their kith and kin are raped!! They will never
realize since they have the so called “Z+++” category security!!
We are no one to decide what women should wear. Who
are we to comment and suggest the clothes she has to wear? We should rather say
“We will make this country secure enough for you to wear what you feel like”.
If a man says her clothes prompted me to rape her, we better hang him!!
The intolerant and negligent society has miles to go
before it realizes the strength and true reason for India to be a democracy.
The freedom of speech is to make your voice heard. But never to hear such
filthy words. Every citizen needs to realize he is a public servant. A
democracy grows and prospers not only by the politicians, the citizens too need
to realize what they contribute. If not, we rather have an autocratic rule.
The Constitution needs to bring serious amendments to
it to punish people who never realize what they speak. The freedom of speech
needs a strict curtailment. It pains to realize that these are the people
ruling our nation, entering the Parliament, passing Bills and running the
nation!! It is a disgrace to those who fought valiantly to win us freedom. To
win us the democracy we never realize the worth of!!
